Almost every week I get asked by a newly engaged couple, “Where should we go for the engagement session?” My answer is always the same… Go somewhere that reflects who you are as a couple. Sounds simple enough yet in most cases, the couple leaves the decision as to where to go, up to me.
Sure, for my local clients, Southern California offers the beaches, the local mountains, and the city, but why not stretch out a little. Maybe you got engaged at Coney Island, or your favorite pastime is wine tasting in the Napa Valley. Perhaps the both of you live and breathe everything Disney! Whatever. . . Let’s go! It only a plane ride away and well worth it in the end.
Last week we shot in the Napa Valley at the HALL Rutherford winery. By invitation only, this exclusive vineyard with its magnificent private tasting room and stunning wine cave was the perfect spot for Michelle and Alex. Peaceful, beautifully designed, the winery reflected their taste and lifestyle; Simplistic elegance.
For Hunter and Brittany, their first and only choice for the engagement session was where they met, Disneyland. Like a fairy tale, Hunter while vacationing with his family, met Disneyland private tour guide Brittany…. the rest was history!
Gabi & Jeremy chose their alma mater, Rice University in Houston. Stationed in Corpus Christi, they wanted something for their Save-the-Dates. Coming back to San Diego before the wedding wasn’t going to happen, so a 3 hour flight and I was in Houston hanging out with this adorable couple! Oh, and if you’re ever in Houston stop by Goode Co Texas BBQ… the best!
